They were preying on their victims like rabid dogs.
The gods of war had let loose their most adored champions for a battle that had no other purpose aside from the sheer pleasure of seeing rivers of burning blood. It was their chance of achieving this little victory they hungered for. Steady blade motions, swift deaths. Rip and shatter, tear apart!
But when the skies stopped cracking with heavy storms, the winds began mourning, scrying a forthcoming day of reckoning.
Obsessive song of the day: Current 93 – Lucifer over London.

You have no idea (or maybe you do
) how much “Non Serviam!” means to me at the moment. As for the song, it would be lovely to hear it in the original version myself (I only listened to the Rotting Christ cover). Your post also calls in flashes from Quake 2, especially the prisoner processing plant.
And yes, gods often bathe in blood.
Hmmm. Click.
Thaaaannnks!
Most welcome.
