Happy 2007!
Sunday, 31 Dec 2006 15:32:35Because I still enjoy making and receiving season greetings.
Because I’m not too tired or bored with the people around me.
Because this whole anti-holidays attitude is beginning to make me sick.
Because I get to do things I could never find the time to.
Because I can actually pause for a little while and think about myself.
Because I still have living creatures and things I care about.
Because I haven’t forgotten what happiness is.
Happy New Year!

Random Facts for December 27, 2006
Wednesday, 27 Dec 2006 13:48:59It’s the first year in my life when I don’t have a Christmas tree, just some branches with thingies on them, scattered here and there for their beautifully wild scent.
I love the winter sun.
I’ve recently been on a trip I never thought I’d go on and received the magnificent reward of remembrance. Breathless moments.
My cats have both grown up and are so fluffy now with their winter fur, so I found myself saying something like the “oh, they grow so fast” that you hear at your [grand]parents. I’ve missed home. And all the things back here seemed so vague at first, like dust had covered them while I’ve been away.
I’ve went out with some very close old friends and met new and interesting people, exchanged lovely gifts (omgomgomg, cuddly toys and pretty crayons! :D) and had a wonderful time. Oh, and the Wild Cherry tea is most adorable.
Aside from those, on the 29th of December I want to be back in Bucharest to see …butterflies. Poke me if you want to tag along.
Happy holidays!

Monday, 11 Dec 2006 22:57:17Night Owls Are More Creative, Says StudyNot a morning person? Take solace – new research suggests that “night owls” are more likely to be creative thinkers.
Scientists can’t yet fully explain why evening types appear to be more creative, but they suggest it could be an adaptation to living outside of the norm.

Spontaneous Flexibility of Morals
Sunday, 10 Dec 2006 17:04:28I really had to write this down here, I totally loved it.
I’m not a hypocrite. I’ve just been diagnosed with spontaneous flexibility of morals.

The Marketplace
Tuesday, 05 Dec 2006 10:28:11I’ve always regarded such places with a bit of disgust combined with fear and a feeling of “what the hell am I doing here?!”, mainly because they’re always crowded, messy and full of people who’d scream, shout or do anything in order to sell their merchandise. And they usually go so far with their bugging techniques, that most of the times I end up leaving a stand just to escape, even if I had actually seen something that might have interested me.
Well, today I went to a marketplace again. Since I didn’t have a specific target, I just started walking here and there, taking a look at this and that, see what could be bought from various places, the prices… you know, the things that grownups do when they want to buy things, except I’m not a grownup and I didn’t want to buy anything in particular.
Thus, dodging aggressive merchants and busy people hurrying all over the place and trying to get any kind of bargains, I ended up in a shoe store. Since the area was emptier, I decided to actually take a closer look. I had even found a pair of boots which I actually liked (note that this is an extremely rare event :D) – too bad they didn’t have a smaller size for me. Then the shopkeeper saw my sexy red nail-polish
and began telling me that she had just read a magazine where they said that strong colours are the new trend now and how nice they’re done, if I did them myself or if it was the work of some professional and so on. I ended up staring blankly at her and considering that I should just leave the place – though I do think I was about to yawn first – but she stopped just in time. I thought I shouldn’t be that rude, so I replied that they are a colour match to the winter holidays. She was simply thrilled by the idea. Of course, I took advantage of that temporary lapse, smiled, thanked her for her time and left.
After just a few steps, I concluded that it had actually been fun (yeah, me, the one with the anti-trends and anti-anti-trends, ending up being trendy ) and got myself a nice smile all the way back home.
