“SofistiCat” Autumn Show 2006

Friday, 29 Sep 2006 18:57:55

Courtesy of Jen, I have new plans for Sunday. Just after I get to Bucharest with the second series of luggage (including my oh so dear comp with a fully-functional DVD-writer, hint hint :P), we’ll tag along and go visit the “SofistiCat” Autumn Show 2006 – read here: see many pretty, lovely, adorable, fluffy, cuddly, über cute cats and drool and complain that I can’t have one or two for myself.

In other news, I have no idea when the new school year begins, whether it’s on Sunday or on Monday morning, the exact hour, where or any such other details.

But I’m pretty excited about the whole thing, although I couldn’t tell why exactly. I suppose it’s just the hope that it will be better here, compared to what the university in Galaţi had to offer.

And it seems I’ll also be having kman as a uni colleague. Joy. :D

Imperfections

Your imperfections were those that made me fall for you and what I adored in you were exactly your flaws – the ones you dreaded so much, the ones you so desperately tried to hide, the ones that made you unique in my eyes, the ones that placed you higher than everything else as you managed to live with them and deal with them and defeat them and rise above them, conquering them and possessing them.

Because they made you live up to the definition of a human being, because they helped you understand others better, because otherwise you’d have been only an arrogant and disrespectful bitch.

They were yours, they were you.

Too bad you actually are just a selfish whore, trading kisses for temporary madness, your pathetic seconds of illusory freedom.

I hate distorted mirrors and lightbulbs.

Busy or Away.

Thursday, 21 Sep 2006 22:00:41

I’ve been rather busy lately, shopping, packing and preparing all sorts of things I may need for my stay in Bucharest. And I’ll be so from now on, too. Don’t know exactly for how long, it depends on a lot of things.

So if you don’t see me online at all, it’s either because I haven’t taken my comp with me to Bucharest yet or I still don’t have Internet access there. One of the two, most likely. But I’m not dead, so call or write or beep or buzz or whatever if you ever feel like. I’ll have so many things to talk about… :)

But yes, I’ll miss my pets. A lot. I took some toys with me, but I think I’ll also get a fishtank and some fish. And a plant. Definitely.

Oh, and see you (or not) at the Tiamat concert. :P

Dolls

That’s my last Duchess painted on the wall,
Looking as if she were alive…

Robert Browning – My Last Duchess

They saw the porcelain dolls today. They both liked them and they both loved the same two. Delightful eyes, splendid hair curls, still happiness captured to defy time.

They let their thoughts slip away, back and forth, here and there. Two little girls, spending every day together, looking for the first green leaves, dancing in the sunlight, running under the same umbrella, playing in the snow, year after year.

Distant figures, geometric outlines, colourful straws in their glasses and small sandwiches on the plates, the swings, badminton, volleyball and basketball, Monopoly, fluffy mittens, English, photo albums, perfumed candles and writing funny greeting cards.

Devotion. Life. Porcelain dolls dressed in joy.

And tonight I heard the crickets again.

Cats and Owls in Maple Trees

You Are A Maple Tree
There’s not anyone in this world quite like you. You are full of imagination, ambition, and originality. Shy but confident, you hunger for new experiences. You have a good memory and learn easily. You are sometimes nervous and always complex (especially in love).
You Were An Owl
You are stealthy and secretive – no one knows the true you. You are a seeker of freedom, and you are comfortable with your dark side.
You Are: 20% Dog, 80% Cat
You are are almost exactly like a cat. You’re intelligent, independent, and set on getting your way. And there’s no way you’re going to fetch a paper for anyone!
